This is one of my favorite wall galleries that I’ve designed. It is 110 inches long by 80 inches high.
I really wanted to make an impact on this wall as their living room is right off the entry and the first thing that you see. I knew I didn’t want to just do something simple and easy. We wanted different, lots of color, contemporary but also affordable. So I started with what frames I could buy off the shelf and work the images into them.
So my brainstorming session started. And of course I came up with the most challenging one that I’ve every done, because it all had to fit together perfectly. Here are the steps that I took.
Step 1 – I layed out the design in 1/2 scale and used templates to represent the furniture. Unfortunately, God didn’t give me the talent to draw.
Step 2 – I imported the images into the design for my client’s approval.
With their approval, I bought the posters, frames and shelves, had the posters professionally mounted, transfered some to canvas and added fun shelves with accessories to give the wall more dimension.
Step 3 – I had it installed. Which only took my art installer 2 hours to do. I’d probably still be there, measuring and putting multiple holes in their wall.
Here is the After
With everything, the galley cost under $ 2,000.
Frames were from Aaron Brothers
Shelves from West Elm
Accessories – Ross, TJ Maxx…
Canvases – I had posters transferred to canvas and stretched by Art USA (702-897-7320)
